Varshi Tap Calendar 2026
Varshi Tap in 2026 is fixed by tithi, not by the English calendar, so the exact calendar (with dates like 10‑03‑2026, 12‑03‑2026, etc.) must be made from your local Jain panchang.
Still, the rule for 2026 is clear:
1. Start & End (Tithi)
According to the Jain calendar and JainKnowledge:
- Varshi Tap 2026 Aarambh (start):
- Varshi Tap Parna (completion):
This means:
- Sankalp and first upvaas are on Chaitra Shukla 8
- Parna (ikshurasa / ganna ras) is on Vaishakh Shukla 3 (Akshay Tritiya) next year
- Because of adhik māsa in that Vikram Samvat year, the tap will run for a little more than 13 months (around 14 months).

2. How to prepare your Varshi Tap Calendar 2026
- Take a reliable Jain panchang for your city & tradition (Digambar / Shwetambar; Desh / Vijay / other Samvat can shift by a day).
- Find “Chaitra Shukla Ashtami” – mark that as Day 1 Upvaas.
- From there, mark:
- Day 1: Upvaas - Day 2: Biyasanu / Ekasanu (as per your niyam) - Day 3: Upvaas - Day 4: Biyasanu / Ekasanu - …continue this alternate‑day pattern till Vaishakh Shukla Tritiya (Akshay Tritiya) of the next year.
- Mark the Parna day (Vaishakh Shukla 3) clearly, and note:
- Parna place (e.g. local derasar, Palitana, Hastinapur, etc.) - Parna samay & dravya (traditionally ikshurasa / ganna ras in Bhagwan Adinath’s smṛti).

3. Why I cannot give a single fixed English‑date calendar
- The same tithi can fall on different English dates in different countries and even different Jain panchangs.
- For Varshi Tap, shuddh tithi is more important than matching some printed English date.
- Therefore, always follow your local Jain panchang / guru / sangh to write out the exact 2026–27 Varshi Tap calendar for your location.
If you want a printed sheet, the easiest way is:
- Sit with your local Jain panchang, mark from Chaitra Shukla 8, 2083 up to Vaishakh Shukla 3, 2084, and write “U” for upvaas and “E” (or “B”) for ekasanu/biyasanu on alternate days. Then photocopy or print this as your Varshi Tap Calendar 2026–27 for personal use.
