People on earth are not only “Indian” because:

1. From Jain view – all are souls (jiva)

- Every living being is an eternal soul. - The soul takes birth in different countries, families, colours and forms according to its karma. - So sometimes a soul may be born in India, sometimes in other places.

1. Body, colour, language = result of karma + environment

- Our body type, face, skin colour, height, strength, etc. are decided by our nāma‑karma (body‑making karma). - The place of birth (India, Africa, Europe, America etc.) is based on gotra‑karma and other karmas. - Climate, food, family habits and culture also create different looks and lifestyles.

1. Nationalities are human-made labels

- “Indian”, “American”, “African”, “Chinese” etc. are names given by humans based on countries. - Jainism looks deeper: beyond these labels, everybody is an ātmā, same in purity and potential.

1. Infinite births – not fixed to one region

- In saṃsār (cycle of birth and death), each soul has taken countless births in many types of bodies and many places. - So the soul you see today as “Indian” may have been born earlier as non‑Indian, and in future also may take birth elsewhere.

1. Spiritual message from Jain Dharma

- Do not see people only as “Indian / non‑Indian”, “this race / that race”. - See all as fellow souls, all wanting happiness and freedom from suffering. - Practice ahimsā, maitri (friendliness), and samatā (equality) toward all beings, whatever their ethnicity or country.

So, earth has many ethnicities because different karmas give different bodies and places of birth, but in truth, all are equal souls on the same spiritual journey.
