what are aagam
In Jainism, Āgam (Aagam / Agam) means the sacred Jain scriptures – the canonical texts that preserve the teachings of the Tirthankars, especially Bhagwan Mahavir.
Very simply:
- Meaning: “Āgam” = “that which has come down (to us)” → the teaching that has been transmitted from the Tirthankars through their Gaṇadhars (main disciples) and the Jain tradition.
