In Jainism, “one sāgaropam (sagropam) time” is an extremely large unit of time used in Jain cosmology.

A simple way to understand it:

• Imagine a huge well or tank that is:

- 1 yojan long - 1 yojan wide - 1 yojan deep (a yojan is a very large distance, around 13–15 km)

• Now, every 100 years, you remove just one drop of water from this tank.

• The time required to empty this entire tank drop by drop is called one sāgaropam (sagropam).

Some traditional explanations also give it an approximate value in years, but the main point is:

• It is unimaginably long, far beyond billions or trillions of years.
• It is used to express vast cosmic durations in Jain time‑cycles and karma durations.
