What does a jeev experience when it does not cut it's connection with paap

    5 months ago 83

When a jīv (soul) does not break its connection with pāp (sinful karma), it continues to experience bondage and suffering in many ways, in this life and future lives.

    In simple steps:

    1. Inner state right now

    - Restlessness and disturbance – more anger, ego, greed, jealousy, fear, guilt, irritation. - Darkness of understanding – difficulty accepting truth, more confusion about right–wrong. - Heavy mind and heart – lack of real inner peace, even when outer comforts are present.

    1. Karmic level – what actually happens

    - Every act of himsā (violence), lies, stealing, sexual misconduct, or intense attachment/aversion attracts pāp karma to the soul. - These karmas stick to the jīv and: - Cover knowledge and perception. - Disturb its natural bliss. - Create obstacles in good efforts. - As long as the jīv continues the same wrong bhāv (intentions), new pāp keeps coming and old pāp doesn’t get a chance to finish.

    1. Experiences in this life

When pāp gives its result (uday), the jīv may face: - Physical suffering: illness, injury, weakness. - Mental suffering: anxiety, depression, fear, loneliness. - Social suffering: broken relationships, loss of trust, insults, enmity. - Obstacles in dharma: difficulty in doing sādhana, listening to discourses, keeping vows, or staying on the right path. 1. Future births

If pāp is strong and not reduced: - Birth in lower gatis – as tiryanch (animal/insect), or in narak (hellish realms) with intense suffering. - Even if born as a human, life may be full of: - Poverty, disease, fear, insults. - Environments that push towards more wrong-doing (bad company, violent surroundings). - The soul keeps rotating in saṃsār (cycle of birth and death) without tasting its own pure, blissful nature. 1. Spiritual loss

    - No stable shānti (peace). - Weak vivek (discrimination between soul and karma, right and wrong). - Less chance to meet true dharma, true Guru, and follow the path to mokṣa. - Even when it wants to do good, antarāy karma (obstructing karma) can block it. ( jainknowledge.com)

    1. Not a punishment from God

    - In Jainism, there is no external God punishing. - The jīv itself brings karmic particles by its own thoughts, words, and actions. - Whatever it sows, it must reap. When pāp is not cut, that reaping is mostly duḥkh (suffering). ( jainknowledge.com)

    1. How to start cutting the connection with pāp

Very briefly: - Develop samyak darshan (right vision) – seeing that “I am soul, separate from karma.” - Practice ahiṃsā, satya, asteya, brahmacharya, aparigraha to stop new pāp. - Do pratikramaṇ, prāyaścitta, tapas, jāp, dhyān to shed old pāp (nirjarā). ( jainknowledge.com)
