Till what time in the night we can eat
In Jainism, eating at night is generally discouraged. According to Jain dietary rules (Ahara-niyama), food should be consumed before sunset. This is because, after sunset, it becomes difficult to avoid inadvertently harming small organisms that may be present in food, which goes against the principle of ahimsa (non-violence).
Strict followers, especially monks and nuns, do not eat or drink anything after sunset. Many lay Jains also observe this practice and finish their meals before sunset or at least before it gets dark. Therefore, according to Jainism, one should ideally not eat at all during the night—food should be consumed only during daylight hours, and eating after sunset is to be avoided.
