    i want learn logass path

    5 months ago 76

You can start learning the Logassa (Logassa Sutra) step by step.

Below is the main traditional text (Shvetambar Path):

    1. Logassa ujjoa-gare,

dhamma-tittha-yare jine, arihante kittais-saṃ, chauvisam pi kevali.

    1. Usabha-majiaṃ ca vande,

Sambhava-mabhiṇandanaṃ ca sumaïṃ ca, Pauma-ppahaṃ Supāsaṃ, jinaṃ ca Chanda-ppahaṃ vande.

    1. Suvihiṃ ca Puppha-dantaṃ,

Sīala-sijjansa-vāsu-pujjaṃ ca, Vimala-maṇantaṃ ca jinaṃ, dhammaṃ Saṇtiṃ ca vandāmi.

    1. Kunthuṃ Araṃ ca Malliṃ,

vande Muṇi-suvvayaṃ Nami-jinaṃ ca, vandāmi Rissa-Nemiṃ, Pāsaṃ taha Vaddhamāṇaṃ ca.

    1. Evam mae abhithuā,

    vihuyaraya-malā pahīṇa-jara-maraṇā, chau-visam pi jinavarā, tittha-yarā me pasiyaṇtu.

    1. Kittiya-vandiya-mahiyā,

je e logassa uttamā siddhā, ārugga-bohi-lābhaṃ, samāhi-vara-muttamaṃ diṇtu.

    1. Chandesu nimmala-yarā,

aichchesu ahiyaṃ payāsa-yarā, sāgara-vara-gambhīrā, siddhā siddhiṃ mama disantu.

    Meaning in very simple words:

    • This sutra bows to all 24 Tirthankars (from Shri Rishabhdev to Shri Mahavira).
    • We remember their names and great qualities.
    • We pray that by praising them, our sins go away and we get:
    - health of body, - right faith and knowledge (samya gyan–darshan), - good meditation and peace, - and finally moksha like the Siddhas.

    Differences (Digambar / Shvetambar):

    • Words and pronunciation have small differences in both traditions.
    • But the main meaning is same: namaskar and stuti of all 24 Tirthankars and Siddhas.

    How to learn Logassa easily:

    1. Learn in parts

    - First learn verse 1 only. Repeat it many times daily. - Then add verse 2, then 3… till 7.

    1. Use this simple method

    - Listen from a clean recording or from a pathshala teacher. - Read and speak slowly together. - Focus on correct pronunciation, not speed.

    1. Best time to recite

    - During Samayik or Pratikraman. - After Navkar Mantra in your daily prayers. - In temple when standing before Tirthankar idols.

    1. Bhav (inner feeling) while reciting

    - “I am bowing to all 24 Tirthankars.” - “May I also walk on their path of ahimsa, aparigraha, and samyaktva.”
