In every time‑cycle (both utsarpini and avasarpini), there are always 24 Tirthankars. Among these, the names of 4 Tirthankars are “shashvat” (eternal) – they appear in every such cycle:

1. Shri Rishabhnan (ऋषभनन् / Rishabhanan)
2. Shri Chandranan (चन्द्रनन् / Chandranan)
3. Shri Vardhman (वर्धमान / Vardhaman)
4. Shri Varishen (वारिशेन / Varishen)

These are called Shashvat Jins – their names are repeated in all tirthankar‑cycles. Spellings/pronunciations may vary slightly between Śvetāmbara and Digambar traditions, but the basic four names are the same.
