In Digambar Jain doctrine:

1. Each soul (jiva) is completely individual and separate.

- No two souls ever “merge” or become one. - Even if they have very similar karma or are in the same place, they remain distinct.

1. Can two souls meet again in the future?

- Jain texts say that births are decided by karma (especially: gati‑karma, ayushya‑karma, etc.). - In theory, it is possible that two souls again get: - similar punya (meritorious karma), and - birth in the same devlok (heaven) or even same vimān (celestial abode). - But this is not guaranteed and not designed as a “reunion system”. It is only a karmic coincidence if it happens.

1. “Family reunion” in heaven?

- Digambar doctrine does not teach any fixed rule like: “Good family members will definitely meet as devas again.” - Relations like father, mother, husband, wife are only vyavahār (worldly, temporary). After death, those labels break. - In devlok, beings enjoy pleasure according to their own punya. They may be near other known souls or may not; there is no promise of emotional / family reunion.

1. Same punya, same heaven, but not as family?

- Yes, this is the more correct way to think in Jain terms: - Souls can independently accumulate punya. - That punya may independently result in same type of deva birth. - They would still be separate jivas, with no permanent family identity.

1. Main spiritual point in Digambar view

- Focusing on “meeting again as devas” is still attachment (rāga). - Scripture repeatedly teaches: - Do punya but with detachment. - Aim for moksha, not for heaven or reunion. - Devlok is also part of samsar; after enjoying deva life, soul falls again according to karma.
