In Jainism, Jain Ramayan is not fake.

It is a separate, authentic Jain version of the Ramayan story, told according to Jain principles and Jain cosmology.

Key points:

• Jain scriptures like Paumachariya (Paumacariu) of Acharya Vimalasuri, Padmapurana of Acharya Ravisena (Digambar), and Trishashti Shalaka Purush Charitra of Acharya Hemachandra (Shwetambar) contain the Jain Ramayan.
• In Jain Ramayan:

- Rama is called Padma (Padmaja) and is one of the 63 Shalaka Purushas, not an avatar of Vishnu. - He is a great, virtuous human, who later becomes a Jain muni and attains moksha. - Lakshman kills Ravana, not Rama – to keep the ideal hero non‑violent, in line with ahimsa. - The whole story is used to teach dharma, karma, ahimsa, and renunciation, not devotion to a god.

Different from Hindu Ramayan, but not fake – it is simply the Jain dharmic telling of the same characters and era, preserved by both Digambar and Shwetambar traditions with some small differences in details.
