Can we wear black cloth for pooja?
In Jain tradition, black cloth is generally not preferred for pooja. For pooja and temple darshan, clean white or light-colored clothes are usually considered more suitable, because they reflect simplicity, purity, and sattvik bhav.
So, the common guidance is:
- Prefer: white, off-white, or other light, clean clothes
- Avoid: black or very dark clothes, especially for pooja in the temple
If a particular Jain temple or sangh has a local rule, it is best to follow that tradition.
