In Jainism, "gati" refers to the types of destinies or realms into which a soul (jiva) can be reborn according to its karma. There are four main gatis:

1. Deva Gati – The heavenly or celestial beings (gods).
2. Manushya Gati – The human realm (humans).
3. Tiryanch Gati – The animal and plant realm (all non-human living beings like animals, birds, insects, and plants).
4. Naraka Gati – The hellish realm (beings suffering in hells).

A soul is reborn in one of these four gatis based on its accumulated karma. The ultimate goal in Jainism is to attain liberation (moksha) and be freed from the cycle of rebirth in any of these gatis.
