Can Jains be gay
In Jain Dharma, the main focus is on soul purity, self-control, and non-attachment. Sexual orientation itself is not the central issue; conduct and inner discipline are. A person can follow Jain values regardless of being gay, as long as they sincerely practice ahimsa, satya, aparigraha, brahmacharya, and self-restraint according to their vows and capacity.
For householders, Jain teachings allow a disciplined life with ethical restraint. For sadhus and sadhvis, complete brahmacharya is observed.
So, from a Jain perspective, the emphasis is not on judging a person’s orientation, but on living with purity, restraint, and compassion.
