Can you take diksha and come back
In Jain Dharma, diksha is a lifelong vow of renunciation. It is not meant to be taken as a temporary step.
So, ideally, one should not take diksha with the thought of “coming back”. A person who takes diksha is expected to remain dedicated to the path of vitaragata, ahimsa, austerity, and detachment.
In practice, if someone is unable to continue due to serious health, age, or other unavoidable reasons, the situation is handled according to the guru, sangh, and tradition. But from the spiritual point of view, returning to worldly life after diksha is not considered the ideal or proper intention.
So the Jain answer is:
- Diksha is not meant to be temporary
- One should take it only with full lifelong commitment
- Coming back is not the spiritual ideal
