In Jain Dharma, when choosing a guru, achar alone is not enough; vinaya, gnan, shanti, and sthirata also matter.

A simple Jain way to think about it:

    1. First, see the guru’s sangh and maryada

    - A strong, established lineage can give stability. - Continuity in guru-parampara often helps a sadhak remain grounded.

    1. Second, see your own inner response

    - If one guru gives you peace, faith, and inspiration, that matters. - A guru should help reduce confusion, ego, and wavering.

    1. Third, do not choose only by a lively first meeting

    - Being interactive is good, but the real test is long-term achara, clarity, and steadiness. - A dull first interaction does not always mean lack of depth.

    1. Fourth, think of future stability

    - If the second guru may leave the lineage soon, that can create uncertainty. - In Jain tradition, steadiness in guidance is very valuable.

    Practical Jain advice

If both are truly good in achar, then generally prefer the one who gives:
    • greater stability
    • stronger lineage
    • clearer long-term guidance
    • less chance of future discontinuity

But if the second guru has deeply touched your heart and the connection is spiritually strong, then you should wait, observe more, and not rush.

    Best Jain approach

Do not decide by first impression alone. Observe:
    • their vinaya
    • their charitra
    • their updesh
    • their consistency
    • the future continuity of their guidance

In Jain path, the right guru is not only one who is pleasant, but one who helps you move steadily toward samyak darshan, samyak jnan, and samyak charitra.

So, based on what you described, the first guru sounds safer from a stability and lineage point of view, while the second sounds emotionally inspiring. If you must choose now, Jain prudence would usually favor stability + lineage + achar over momentary interaction.
