Ārdrakumāra (आद्रकुमार / Ardra Kumar) was a prince in Jain कथा. He was the son of King Ārdraka and Queen Ārdrakā in the country of Ārdraka. When he grew up, he became fond of worldly pleasures. ( wisdomlib.org)

King Śreṇika’s son Abhayakumāra sent gifts and, especially, a Jina idol to Ārdrakumāra. As soon as Ārdrakumāra saw the idol, he remembered his previous birth and became inwardly awakened. The story says that in a former life he had heard the Jain teachings, taken initiation, and later fell into attachment, which led to his rebirth in a non-Aryan land. ( wisdomlib.org)

Later, Ārdrakumāra came to the Arya land, took diksha, and after some time became a monk. A deva told him that he still had karmas connected with enjoyment, but he continued on the spiritual path. Main lesson: even a person attached to worldly life can be transformed by the darshan of a Jina idol, remembrance of past vows, and firm dedication to Jain dharma.
