What to place under threshold of new home?
In Jain tradition, a common auspicious practice is to place a small silver coin, rice grains (akshat), or a sacred symbol like Swastika / Siddhachakra under or near the threshold of the new home.
A simple Jain way is:
- silver coin
- uncooked rice grains
- Swastika or Siddhachakra symbol
- sometimes a small piece of sandalwood or a sacred note with Navkar Mantra
The exact custom varies by local tradition and sect. The main intention is manglik shuddhi, auspiciousness, and remembrance of the Navkar Mantra.
