In Jain Dharma, it is not appropriate to place the Navkar Mantra under a threshold if there is a chance that people may step over it.

The Navkar Mantra is highly revered, so putting it in a place where it can be trampled, damaged, or disrespected is not ideal. Even if the intention is pure, the placement should also preserve maryada and reverence.

Better options:

• Place it above the threshold, not below it.
• Keep it in a clean, elevated, respected place near the entrance.
• Use it in a frame, plaque, or engraved stone on the wall or doorframe.
• If it must be near the floor, make sure it is not in a walking path.

In Jain tradition, we try to keep sacred words and symbols in places where ahimsa, respect, and purity are maintained.

So the simple guidance is: do not place the Navkar Mantra under a threshold where stepping on it may happen.
