Can I do samyak in periods
In Jain Dharma, samyaktva is an inner right faith, so it is not destroyed by bodily conditions like menstruation.
If you mean doing samayik / sāmāyika during periods:
- Spiritually, many traditions say the vow itself is pure in intention.
- Practically, some Jain traditions advise temporary restriction from certain temple or ritual activities during menstruation.
- This can vary between Digambar and Shwetambar traditions and also by local family custom.
So the safe Jain answer is:
- Samyak: yes, it remains possible, because it is a matter of right faith.
- Samayik and external rituals: follow the guidance of your guru, sadhvi, acharya, or family tradition.
If you meant something else by “samyak,” the meaning can differ slightly, but in Jainism the inner purity of faith is always possible.
