Shantidhara is done in Jain tradition to bring peace, purity, and spiritual calm.

It is generally performed:

• to शांतify the environment and mind,
• to remove अशुभ भावs and disturbances,
• to invoke shanti for the soul, family, community, and all living beings,
• as an act of devotion during worship or special religious occasions.

The inner purpose of Shantidhara is not just ritual pouring, but to cultivate:

• Ahimsa,
• Shuddhi,
• Bhakti,
• Samata,
• and Shanti in thought, speech, and action.

In Jain Dharma, the true meaning is that we pray for peace within ourselves and for all जीवs, while remembering the qualities of the Tirthankars.
