In Jain cosmology, there is no single “last civilization” that continues into the next yuga cycle. A yuga cycle is part of the endless avasarpini and utsarpini time-wheel, where conditions gradually decline and then rise again.

What happens at the end of a cycle is:

• Human strength, lifespan, virtue, and social order decline to their lowest point.
• In the final age, life becomes extremely difficult and civilization in the usual sense cannot continue.
• Then the next cycle begins with new conditions, not as a continuation of the old civilization.
• Jainism does not describe this as the work of a creator god; it is the natural movement of time.

So, in Jain view, the “last civilization” of the prior cycle is simply ended by the natural decline of that time period, and the next cycle starts afresh under different cosmic conditions.
