In Shwetambar, Can we offer a Black Flower to Bhagwan when we do daily pooja at Derasar or Mandir?
In Shwetambar Murtipujak tradition, black flowers should not be offered to Bhagwan in daily pooja at Derasar/Mandir.
Reason:
- Black color is generally considered inauspicious and not suitable for puja.
- Offering to Bhagwan should be done with clean, fresh, beautiful, and pure items.
- Wilted, broken, dusty, or dark/black flowers are also avoided because they do not reflect shuddhi and bhakti.
Better practice:
- Offer only fresh, fragrant, and clean flowers if your local tradition permits flowers in pooja.
- If flowers are not traditionally used in your Derasar, follow the local aacharya/guruparampara and temple custom.
So the simple answer is: No, black flower should not be offered in daily pooja.
