when can child do puja after birth in jainism as per shwetambar
In Shwetambar Jain tradition, there is no single universally fixed scriptural rule for exactly when a child may do puja after birth.
Common practice is:
- For the first 10 days after birth, the family usually observes sutak / ashaucha, so puja, temple visit, and ritual activities are generally avoided.
- After 10 days, once the family has completed the customary purification, the child may be brought for darshan and, in some families, may be present during puja.
For a very small child, puja is usually done symbolically with the help of parents, because the child cannot independently perform the विधि.
So, in short: after the 10-day sutak period is the usual Shwetambar practice.
