Please explain the proper way to do pratikraman before bed
Before bed, the proper pratikraman is a short daily self-reflection and repentance done with humility, sincerity, and awareness of any faults committed during the day.
Simple bedtime pratikraman method
- Sit or stand quietly in a clean, calm place.
- Remember the Arihants, Siddhas, Acharyas, Upadhyayas, and Sadhus with devotion.
- Reflect on the day:
- harmful speech - anger, pride, deceit, greed - thoughts of violence or attachment - carelessness in conduct
- Repent sincerely for any known or unknown wrongdoing.
- Ask forgiveness inwardly from all जीवों (living beings) you may have hurt, even unknowingly.
- Resolve not to repeat the same mistakes.
- Take the small vow for the night to remain careful in thought, word, and action.
- End with peace and surrender to the path of non-violence and self-purification.

The exact form may differ a little in Śvetāmbara and Digambara practice, but the inner spirit is the same: alochana, pratikraman, and pratyakhyan — confession, repentance, and resolution. If you want, I can also give you a very short 2-minute bedtime pratikraman version.
