What is a swanubhav yatra
Swanubhav Yatra means the inner journey of self-realization.
In Jain Dharma, it refers to the process of:
- turning awareness inward,
- observing the soul (jiva),
- separating the soul from body, mind, and external attachments,
- and experiencing one’s own true nature directly.
It is not an outer travel, but an inner spiritual यात्रा toward:
- Atma-jnan — knowledge of the soul,
- Samyak Darshan — right faith,
- Samyak Gyan — right knowledge,
- Samyak Charitra — right conduct.
In simple words, swanubhav yatra is the path of direct self-experience, where the soul realizes: “I am not the body; I am the pure soul.”
This is very important in Jain spirituality because true liberation begins from self-awareness and inner purity.
