whai meant by alpa arambh
Alpa ārambh means very little involvement in हिंसा-related activity or worldly entanglement.
In Jain context:
- Ārambh = beginning or involvement in activities that may cause harm, especially in farming, business, cooking, construction, etc.
- Alpa = little, minimal
So alpa ārambh refers to a life style or work that causes less harm to living beings, and has minimum हिंसा, minimum bondage, and minimum attachment.
It is considered better in Jain Dharma because it supports:
- Ahimsa
- Less violence
- Less karma bondage
- Simple living
- Less material attachment
In daily life, Jain devotees often try to choose alpa ārambh occupations and actions as far as possible.
