Alpa ārambh means very little involvement in हिंसा-related activity or worldly entanglement.

In Jain context:

• Ārambh = beginning or involvement in activities that may cause harm, especially in farming, business, cooking, construction, etc.
• Alpa = little, minimal

So alpa ārambh refers to a life style or work that causes less harm to living beings, and has minimum हिंसा, minimum bondage, and minimum attachment.

It is considered better in Jain Dharma because it supports:

• Ahimsa
• Less violence
• Less karma bondage
• Simple living
• Less material attachment

In daily life, Jain devotees often try to choose alpa ārambh occupations and actions as far as possible.
