Can jain people watch netflix
In Jain Dharma, watching Netflix is not forbidden by a blanket rule, but it should be judged by your intention, the content, and how it affects your conduct.
A Jain person should be careful that the viewing does not lead to:
- Himsa in mind, speech, or action
- Greed, attachment, or sensual excitement
- Waste of time that harms spiritual discipline
- Violence, vulgarity, falsehood, or harmful entertainment
So, if the content is non-violent, clean, and does not disturb your vows or values, some Jains may watch it. But if it increases kashayas like anger, pride, deceit, or greed, it is better avoided.
For a Jain, the key question is not only “Can I watch it?” but also “Does it support ahimsa, self-control, and detachment?”
