According to Jainism, the world does not have an absolute beginning or an absolute end.

Jain philosophy teaches that:

• The universe is eternal and uncreated.
• It goes through endless cycles of time:

- Utsarpiṇī: a rising era, when conditions improve - Avasarpiṇī: a descending era, when conditions decline

• In the current descending cycle, we are in a period where dharma, lifespan, and well-being gradually decrease.

So, in Jainism, the world will not “end” forever. Rather, it continually moves through cycles of rise and decline.

What can end is:

• a particular age
• a certain condition of the world
• the existence of beings in a specific realm or state

But the cosmic substance itself remains eternal.

In short: Jainism does not teach a final destruction of the universe.
