According to Jainism, the soul of Lord Krishna (Krushna Bhagwan) was destined to go to the Seventh Hell (Naraka) due to the violence and actions performed during his life, especially in the Mahabharata war. However, Jain scriptures mention that by listening to the "Kāyotsarga" (body-abandoning posture) or practicing "Kāya Sutta" (Kāyotsarga Sutra), Krishna earned spiritual merit that reduced his hellish journey.

Specifically, Jain texts like the "Trishashti Shalaka Purusha Charitra" by Acharya Hemachandra mention that Krishna listened to the "Kāyotsarga Sūtra" (also referred to as "Kāya Sutta") recited by Neminath Bhagwan, his cousin and the 22nd Tirthankara. Because of this, his karmic bondage was reduced, and instead of going to the Seventh Hell, he was born in the Third Hell after his death, thus skipping four lower hells.
