If I watch 18+ content do I need to follow all that monk level of sincerity to clear the karma or I can do the layperson level one of reptance as a layperson

In Jain Dharma, the approach differs for a layperson and a monk.

A monk’s vows are far more strict, because the monk has renounced worldly life. A layperson is not expected to practice monk-level austerity, but a layperson should still follow right repentance, restraint, and self-control according to their capacity.

If someone has done a harmful or unwholesome act, Jain practice emphasizes:

    • Alochana: honest self-review
    • Pratikraman: repentance and reflection
    • Prayaschitta: atonement / corrective discipline
    • Niyam / Sankalp: making a firm resolution not to repeat it
    • Gradual restraint: reducing the cause, not just feeling regret

So for a layperson, the goal is not monk-level perfection, but sincere repentance and progressive improvement. Merely saying “I am sorry” is not the full Jain approach if the behavior continues without restraint.

If one watches 18+ content, from a Jain viewpoint it can intensify attachment, passion, and bondage of karma. The proper lay response is:

    1. Acknowledge it honestly
    2. Repent sincerely
    3. Take a vow to reduce or stop it
    4. Practice self-restraint according to one’s strength
    5. Seek purification through pratikraman and disciplined living

So the answer is: No, you do not need monk-level sincerity as a layperson; but yes, you do need sincere layperson-level repentance and real restraint. The repentance should be genuine, not casual.
