In Jain Dharma, kalyāṇak means an auspicious and spiritually significant event in the life of a Tīrthankar or great soul.

The main five kalyāṇaks of a Tīrthankar are:

1. Chyavan kalyāṇak – descent of the soul into the mother’s womb
2. Janm kalyāṇak – birth
3. Diksha kalyāṇak – renunciation and initiation into ascetic life
4. Kevalgyan kalyāṇak – attainment of omniscience
5. Nirvāṇ kalyāṇak – final liberation

These are celebrated as very sacred moments in Jain tradition because they mark the soul’s highest spiritual progress.
