• Sneha / affection is still generally a form of bondage in the worldly sense, because it can create attachment to persons and outcomes.
• True love, in the highest Jain sense, is free from ego, possessiveness, and craving. It becomes compassion, goodwill, and non-possessive care.

So the deeper Jain view is:

When love is completely free from ego, desire, and ownership, it is no longer attachment. It becomes pure benevolence and compassion.

In short:

• Attachment = “Mine, I need, I want, I cannot live without.”
• Pure love = “May the other be well, without selfish claim.”

So yes, if love is truly free from ego, it is not attachment. It is closer to karuṇā, maitrī, and selfless affection in Jain understanding.
