In Jain Dharma, anant kāl means time has no beginning and no end, but it does not mean that all jīvas automatically become siddha.
Why not all jīvas are in Siddha Kshetra?
Because:- Jīva is bound by karma since beginningless time
Samsārī jīvas have been covered by karmas without a first beginning.
- Liberation needs right knowledge, right faith, and right conduct
Only when all karma is destroyed does the soul rise to Siddha Kshetra.
- Not every jīva takes the required effort
Some jīvas remain wandering in samsār due to their own karma and conditions.
- Siddha status is attained one soul at a time
When a soul becomes completely free, it goes to the top of loka, the Siddha Śilā. But many other jīvas continue in the cycle of birth and death.
Simple way to understand
Infinite time does not mean “everyone must already be liberated.” It only means there has been endless time for bondage and liberation both. Still, liberation happens by karmic destruction and spiritual effort, not by time alone.In Jain view
- Siddha Kshetra contains only liberated souls.
- Samsār contains endless living beings still bound by karma.
- Time is infinite, but karma and spiritual progress decide where a soul is.
