Is clinging a little better than possiveness
In Jain Dharma, both clinging and possessiveness are forms of attachment and both are obstacles on the path of liberation.
- Possessiveness means “this is mine.”
- Clinging means “I cannot let go of this.”
From a Jain view, clinging may appear milder than possessiveness, but it is not spiritually desirable if it still binds the soul with rāga and moh. The ideal is non-attachment and aparigraha.
So, the Jain answer is: No, clinging is not truly better than possessiveness; both should be reduced and finally abandoned.
