Is clinging milder than posssivness
In Jain Dharma, clinging and possessiveness are both forms of attachment (rāga), but clinging is usually milder than possessiveness.
- Clinging means the mind keeps holding on emotionally.
- Possessiveness is stronger: “this is mine,” “I must control it,” or “I cannot let go.”
So, in Jain understanding, possessiveness is a deeper and more intense form of attachment, while clinging is a softer form. But both bind the soul and should be reduced through vairāgya and aparigraha.
