Why does kundli matter for diksha
In Jain Dharma, kundli is not the main basis for diksha.
Diksha matters because of:
- Vairagya — detachment from worldly life
- Samyak Darshan — right faith
- Shuddha bhavna — pure intention
- Sadhana ki yogyata — readiness for vows, discipline, and renunciation
- Guru ni anumati — the decision of a qualified Acharya or guru
Where kundli may be used
In some traditions, a kundli may be seen for:- Muhurta — choosing an auspicious time
- Prakriti samajhna — understanding a person's nature
- Parivarik parampara — family custom
But this is secondary, not the real foundation of diksha.
Jain view
In Jainism, spiritual qualification is more important than astrological position. A person takes diksha when there is true renunciation and inner readiness, not merely because of the horoscope. So, in simple words:
Kundli can be optional in tradition, but diksha is decided by dharma, vairagya, and guru’s discernment.
