Can a jain marry a chamar?
In Jain Dharma, a person’s spiritual value is judged by conduct, vows, and karma, not by birth alone. So from a Jain principle perspective, marriage is not prohibited merely because of caste or birth.
However, in actual practice, family and community customs may differ, and some families may have social restrictions. Those are social customs, not the core Jain spiritual principle.
If you mean a marriage between a Jain and someone from a different community or caste, it is generally a personal and family matter, not a religious sin in Jainism. The main concern in Jain life is that the relationship supports ahimsa, truth, restraint, and peaceful conduct.
