If everything happens because it us pre destined where does karma bondage come from
In Jain Dharma, everything is not purely pre-destined.
Karma-bandha comes from the soul’s own actions, thoughts, speech, and passions. A soul binds karma when it acts with kashayas like anger, pride, deceit, and greed, and when it performs activity with attachment or aversion.
Key Jain understanding
- Past karma influences present circumstances.
- But the present soul-state and present effort also matter.
- So karma bondage arises from our own conscious and unconscious activity, not from an outside force deciding everything.
Simple way to understand it
- Destiny in Jainism is the result of old karma.
- New bondage is created by current conduct.
- Liberation comes by stopping new bondage and destroying old karma through right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct.
Example
If someone suffers now, that may be the fruit of past karma. But if in that suffering they become angry, hateful, or greedy, they bind new karma. If they remain शांत, संयमी, and aware, they reduce bondage.Jain conclusion
So in Jain Dharma:- Past karma shapes conditions
- Present effort creates new karma or stops it
That is why karma bondage exists: because the soul itself participates in action and attachment.
