In the story of Neminath Dada’s wedding, the animals were kept for slaughter and food for the wedding feast. They were not kept to help in cooking.

According to Jain tradition, when Neminath saw the animals waiting to be killed for the celebration, he felt deep karuṇā and ahiṃsā. This awakened his detachment from worldly life, and he renounced the marriage and took diksha.

So the role of those animals was:

• for meat / slaughter in the feast
• not for cooking assistance

This incident is especially remembered in Jain Dharma as a powerful lesson of non-violence and compassion toward all जीवs.
