In Jain Dharma, ahimsa is the highest principle, and satya (truth) must always be followed in a way that does not cause हिंसा.

So, truth is not “less important,” but it is never to be practiced against ahimsa. A truth that harms, injures, or leads to violence should not be spoken. Jain ethics teaches that speech should be truthful, beneficial, gentle, and non-violent.

In simple words:

• Ahimsa is supreme
• Satya is also essential
• But satya must be under the discipline of ahimsa

So, in Jain view, truth without compassion and non-violence is not the ideal.
