But with kalyug, there is so much distractions and attachments how will one live in these
In Kalyug, the path is more difficult, but not impossible.
Jain Dharma teaches that even in difficult times, one can live with vigilance, restraint, and inner detachment. The world may be full of distractions, but the soul can still remain steady through:
- Ahimsa in thoughts, words, and actions
- Satya and simplicity in speech
- Aparigraha by reducing attachment to possessions and expectations
- Self-awareness and constant samyak smriti: remembering the true purpose of life
- Swadhyaya, pratikraman, and meditation to purify the mind
- Keeping good company and avoiding harmful influences
Kalyug does not remove the possibility of spiritual progress. It only means the effort must be more conscious. In Jain view, the external world may be noisy, but moksha-yatra begins by controlling the inner world.
So one should not despair. Live with less craving, less possessiveness, more awareness, and more compassion. Even in Kalyug, a sincere soul can walk the Jain path steadily.
