Why does the jain sutras symbol carry the swastika

In Jain Dharma, the swastika is used as a highly auspicious symbol because it represents important spiritual teachings:

• The four gatis (states of existence):

1. Deva — heavenly beings 2. Manushya — humans 3. Tiryanch — animals and other beings 4. Naraka — hell beings

• It reminds Jains of the cycle of birth and rebirth in samsara.

• In Jain tradition, the symbol also points to the fourfold path of spiritual progress and the importance of turning the soul toward liberation through Right Faith, Right Knowledge, and Right Conduct.

• The swastika is considered a sign of auspiciousness, well-being, and spiritual purity.

In Jain symbols, it is not used for political or modern meanings, but as a religious sign of auspiciousness and the soul’s journey.
