How to control it
In Jain Dharma, “control it” is usually done by controlling the mind, speech, and body, and especially the kashayas: anger, ego, deceit, and greed.
Simple Jain ways:
- Practice self-awareness: watch what thought or passion is rising.
- Pause before reacting: remain silent for a moment.
- Do pratikraman: review your actions and repent for any mistake.
- Increase samayik: stay in inner calm and equanimity.
- Study Jain scriptures: right knowledge helps reduce wrong impulses.
- Reduce desires and possession: less attachment means more control.
- Keep good company: stay near satsang, साधु-साध्वी, and virtuous people.
- Practice forgiveness: anger becomes weaker when forgiveness grows.
- Follow ahimsa: avoid harming others in thought, word, or deed.
In Jain view, real control comes not by suppression, but by steady awareness, restraint, and detachment.
If you want, I can explain this in the context of anger, lust, greed, or the wandering mind.
