what is anger ?
In Jainism, anger is called krodh.
It is one of the four kaṣāyas (passions):
- krodh — anger
- māna — pride
- māyā — deceit
- lobha — greed

Anger is the inner state of agitation and harsh feeling that arises when the mind becomes disturbed by attachment, ego, or desire. It creates restlessness, harms peace of soul, and leads to karma bondage.Why it is harmful

- increases violence in thought, speech, and action
- obstructs self-control
- binds pāpa karma

A Jain seeker tries to replace anger with:- kṣamā — forgiveness
- samyak jñāna — right understanding
- samatā — equanimity
- ahiṃsā — non-violence
In short, anger is a destructive passion of the soul that should be conquered through forgiveness and self-restraint.
