I they not bathe
In Jain Dharma, some ascetics do not bathe with water as part of strict aparigraha and ahimsa practice, especially monks and nuns in traditional mendicant life.
But this is not the same for all Jains:
- Sādhus / sādhvīs may avoid bathing with water.
- Śrāvaks / śrāvikās (householders) generally do bathe normally.
- Practices can vary somewhat by Digambar and Śvetambar traditions.
So, no, not all Jains avoid bathing. It mainly applies to certain renunciants following very strict vows.
