Simple Jain way to do Gruh Pravesh
- Clean the house well
- Keep the home pure and tidy before entering. - Remove unnecessary clutter.
- Choose an auspicious day and time
- Traditionally, families take guidance from a Jain knowledgeable person or elders.
- Enter with right foot first
- The main person should enter the house with a calm and respectful mind.
- Carry auspicious items
- Commonly used items may include: - rice - coconut - mango leaves - kalash with water - Keep the arrangement simple and pure.
- Do internal worship / prayer
- Recite: - Navkar Mantra - prayers to Tirthankars - Mangal Path if known - This is done with devotion and sincerity.
