    an hour ago 3

In Jain tradition, gruh pravesh vidhi should be done with shuddhi, shanti, and auspiciousness, keeping Ahimsa, Satya, and simplicity in mind.

Simple Jain way to do Gruh Pravesh

    1. Clean the house well

    - Keep the home pure and tidy before entering. - Remove unnecessary clutter.

    1. Choose an auspicious day and time

    - Traditionally, families take guidance from a Jain knowledgeable person or elders.

    1. Enter with right foot first

    - The main person should enter the house with a calm and respectful mind.

    1. Carry auspicious items

    - Commonly used items may include: - rice - coconut - mango leaves - kalash with water - Keep the arrangement simple and pure.

    1. Do internal worship / prayer

    - Recite: - Navkar Mantra - prayers to Tirthankars - Mangal Path if known - This is done with devotion and sincerity.

    1. Install the religious place first

    - If possible, place a clean jinalay / mandir space or a small puja sthaan first. - Keep an image or idol of a Tirthankar only in a respectful and proper way.

    1. Light a lamp if you follow that tradition

    - Use it as a symbol of knowledge and auspiciousness. - Keep all actions peaceful and non-violent.

    1. Avoid wasteful or harmful practices

    - Jain gruh pravesh should not include violence, intoxication, or unnecessary display. - Keep the ceremony sattvik and restrained.

    1. Serve simple sattvik food

    - Prefer pure, vegetarian Jain food. - Avoid roots, onion, garlic, and anything violating Jain discipline, if your family follows that strictly.

    Jain spirit of gruh pravesh

The real auspiciousness is not only in rituals, but in:
    • pure conduct
    • peaceful speech
    • compassion
    • non-possession
    • devotion to dharma

A new home becomes truly auspicious when it is lived in with Shanti, Samyaktva, and Dharma.
