The story of Palitana

According to Jain tradition, Shatrunjaya was sanctified by many Tirthankars, and it became a sacred place because several great souls performed penance and attained spiritual purification there. The hill is especially associated with Bhagwan Adinath (Rishabhdev), the first Tirthankar.
