Who are Bhavan Vasi Dev? Can they interact with other people?
In Jain cosmology, Bhavanvasi Dev are the residential celestial beings who live in the lower heavenly regions called bhavanas. They are one class of devas, and they are generally associated with specific abodes, places, and worldly phenomena. They are not liberated souls; they are still within the cycle of birth and death.
Can they interact with other people?
Yes, they can interact with humans, but only in a limited and worldly way. For example:- they may appear or influence events,
- they may protect, disturb, or assist in certain circumstances,
- they can communicate in ways that ordinary humans may experience as divine or unseen contact.
But their interaction is not spiritual liberation and not the same as the conduct of a Tirthankar or fully enlightened being. Their powers are still bound by karma and their own lifespan in that celestial state.
Important point
From the Jain view, even devas like Bhavanvasi Dev are not objects of ultimate refuge. The real goal is moksha, attained through right faith, right knowledge, and right conduct. If you want, I can also explain the four classes of devas in Jainism.
