It has spread out of control and the information is not true but false, I know only now. I intended it for good purpose and people requested to know which is how it spread. Now what should I do?

In Jain Dharma, this should be corrected at once.

    What to do:

    1. Stop spreading it immediately.

Do not share it further, even with good intention.

    1. Accept the mistake honestly.

In Jain ethics, asatya and causing false belief are दोषपूर्ण actions.

    1. Correct the misinformation publicly or privately.

Send a clear correction to the same people who received the false information.

    1. Ask forgiveness.

Do micchāmi dukkaḍaṃ in your heart, and if needed, to those affected.

    1. Do pratikraman and prayshchitta.

Repent sincerely, and resolve not to repeat it.

    1. Be more careful in future.

In Jain Dharma, truthfulness is not only saying what is true, but also avoiding careless speech that harms others.

    1. Keep intention pure, but also action disciplined.

Good intention does not remove the responsibility to correct wrong information.

A simple Jain way to reflect:

    • “I should not allow falsehood to continue.”
    • “I will correct what I spread.”
    • “I will practice satya, ahimsa, and vigilance in speech.”

If the matter has caused harm, the most dharmic step is: correct it clearly, apologize sincerely, and do not repeat it.
