Also, if i am in periods, how do i deal with this emotions of vairagya

    3 months ago 44

In Jain Dharma, during menstruation you can still protect and nourish vairagya in a gentle, inner way.

How to deal with those emotions

    • Do not judge yourself. Emotional changes during this time can happen; simply observe them with awareness.
    • Turn the mind inward. Use the time for sva-dhyaya: silent reflection on the soul, karma, and impermanence.
    • Practice equanimity. If emotions rise, remember: this too is a passing state. Vairagya means not getting pulled by the feeling.
    • Keep your conduct simple. Focus on:
    - ahimsa in thought, speech, and action - mild, peaceful food if possible - less outer activity, more inner steadiness
    • Do small, sincere practices. You may do:
    - silent naam smaran of the Arihants or Navakar Mantra - contemplation on the 12 bhavanas - reading a little Jain scripture
    • Avoid forcing austerity. Vairagya is not self-punishment. It is calm detachment with compassion toward your body and mind.
    • Be especially gentle with yourself. If the mind feels tender, that is the right time for softness, patience, and restraint.

    Jain दृष्टि

In Jainism, the body is temporary and subject to natural changes. Vairagya is not disturbed by the body’s condition; rather, it becomes deeper when you remain aware, non-attached, and शांत during such times.

    Simple inner prayer

You may silently reflect: “This body is impermanent. Let my soul remain steady, pure, and detached.”

If you want, I can also give a short Jain reflection for periods time or a Navkar-based calming practice.
